CRIMINAL MATTERS

There is a vast range of cases where an expert report may be of assistance.

It is frequently the case that serious allegations are made about the conduct of a driver on the road. A reconstruction report may be appropriate, shadowing whatever the Police have already carried out. Alternatively it might be necessary to examine the vehicles concerned.

Criminal allegations are not confined to driving related matters. In some cases vehicle theft and the subsequent “ringing” is involved. In such cases John Dabek has first-hand experience of being involved in a particularly large case where the extent to which the identities had been, to say the least, dramatically changed.

In other cases the case might just be about the possibility of a vehicle being taken using similar keys. With more modern vehicles the likelihood of this happening is remote, although it is often suggested.

When the matter goes to trial the expert is fully conversant with the facts. Expert reports are generally agreed prior to trial yet the expert will often sit in on a trial in order to hear the evidence as it unfolds and advise the Court alongside other experts.
